Swami Chidananda Puri is an Indian spiritual guru from the Advaita darsana lineage of Adi Shankaracharya. He comes from the Dashanami sampradaya and accepted Sannyasa Deeksha on Mahasivarathri Day of 1989 from Kailasashram, Rishikesh.
Siksha Guru Brahmaleena Parama Poojya Swami Vimalananda Puri Maharaj (Madhavanandashramam, Mahemadabad, Gujarat) and Deeksha Guru Brahmaleena Parama Poojya Swami Vidyananda Giri Maharaj (Kailasashramam, Rishikesh) are his gurus. He established Advaitashramam, Kolathur in the year 1992, as a centre of Vedanta Studies. He is Founder and Managing Trustee of Sanathana Dharma Seva Trust, an organisation created to spread sanatana dharma and vedanta through print and electronic media.
He is also the Founder and Managing Trustee of Sri Sankara Charitable Trust, an organisation to serve the socio-cultural needs of Hindu society. The trust is now running various activities under the auspices of: 1. Kolathur Ashramam, Kozhikode, 2. Sri Sankara Advaitashramam, Palakkad (A centre for Studies and propagation of Sanathana dharma), 3. Sri Sankara Vidya Mandiram, Kolathur, Kozhikode, 4. Sadguru Nithyanandashramam, Naduvannur (An Ashram at the Birth Place of Bhagawan Nityananda), 5. Naranarayanashramam Wayanad, Thiruvananthapuram & Malappuram.
Other various roles that he is handling now are as Head of Madhavanandashramam, Mahemadabad, Gujarat, Visiting Professor of Sanatana Dharma Peethom (centre for sanatana dharma studies and research), University of Calicut, President of Marga Darsaka Mandalam, Kerala ( An Organisation of Sannyasins) and Patron of Sabarimala Karma Samithi (which is at the forefront of fighting for the preservation of traditions at Sabarimala).
